4th of July weekend

Thurs night:

Being me and Alesha's anniversary, we went out for dinner in Little Italy and La Dolce Vita. Food was decent but the place was a bit grubby IMO. Made it back to Elyria just in time to see their fireworks. We just parked and watched them in the car.

Friday the 4th:

Loaded our bikes on the car and drove to the west side of Lakewood, then biked into Cleveland to see the fireworks there. We stopped for some food at Aladdin's, and rode around for a while. We had a great spot at Edgewater, but later discovered the location had moved a few years ago, and we were about a mile away from them, but could still see them just fine. We just didnt get the full effect of the loud booms.

Getting back to the car was pretty cool. We were moving faster than the vehicle traffic and I was really into weaving in/out of traffic. We saw a fight break out on the street but the drama quickly subsided.

Saturday:

Drove down to visit Alesha's sisters. One lives about an hour east of Columbus, the other is in Columbus, so we did some driving. Just kinda hung out with them. Went swimming in Michelle's pool, sat in the sauna, and went to dinner at Mongolian BBQ. Got home after midnight.

Sunday:

Got up later than we should have, and hustled to get to Slack's family retreat in Marblehead for boating/fishing. (more to come, including pics...have some stuff to deal with at work)

OK, I'm back...so we picked up some munchies and a 6-pack of Edmund Fitzgerald (apropos, I thought) and pulled into Chez Tomon about 10 min late. We climbed aboard and headed out toward Cedar Point and slowed to a stop among a bunch of boats, where we assumed the fish would be. I had just mentioned putting up some $$ for a wager on the first fish when I got one on the line. Snagged an average size white bass. Got a much smalled one later on too, and I was the ONLY one to land a fish.

We docked at a restaurant (forget the name, it was that memorable) for a late lunch. The food was decent but it came out in increments. My baked potato didnt get there until we were on dessert. The waiter seemed a little baked himself.

After that it was back to Tomon's dock, and we headed home shortly after that. I crashed out about 8 pm.

Many thanks to Slacks on a great time.
